Proud recipients of the National Charter Standard League of the Year Award 2010 and the first ever Charter Standard League in Lancashire!
The League for 2016/17 will consist of around 650 teams playing either 5 v 5 from under 7s to under 8s, 7 v 7 for under 9s and under 10s, 9 v 9 football at u/11s to u/12s and 11 v 11 football at u/13s to u/21s. (Many of these teams were mixed with girls and boys).
The league will this year be launching its own independant Futsal league for teams in the U7 to U14 groups ,this league will run on Sundays at 6 different venues accross the town.
In all we have around 8,500 children taking part in four formats of football each weekend.
We have around 150 referees, with many moving onto the adult game and members of the referee academy.
We are moving towards 100% Charter Standard status with all our clubs having to attain this standard
We are a RESPECT league and expect all our clubs, teams and individuals therein to adhere to the FA RESPECT Programme.
We are a partner league to Bolton Wanderers who are one of the first professional clubs in the UK to build formal links with a local league, provides support to our presentation nights and provides the Macron Stadium and their Academy Facilities for our Cup Finals.
In addition the Patron of our league is non other than former Bolton and England striker Kevin Davies and Southend Utd manager Phil Brown
