BBDFL Chairman Message 11th July 2017-Important

Hi and hope you are all well.

You may, or may not be aware of some serious reports from a BBDFL game from Saturday 9th September 2017.

There have been numerous local press reports and social media activity over the past 36 hours( including the BBC), and many league members making comments and judgements on the allegations from the said game on Saturday.

The Age Group Secretary, League Secretary and myself, in partnership with the LFA Chief Executive, and The Police, have been working very hard on this over the past 36 hours and the BBDFL statement( as at today) is as follows:

"The BBDFL, Lancashire FA and the Police  are fully investigating the reported  press incidents referred to from Saturday 9/9/17"

Roger De Nobrega, LFA Chief Executive, and Gary Russell, BBDFL Chairperson said they had yet to receive formal reports from the clubs and the referee of the Bolton, Bury and District Football League game.

There is a meeting with the referee tonight to obtain his full report. He will be fully supported by the BBDFL.

There will be no further comments on this matter, until such time as the full investigation is complete.

A very unfortunate blip to the start of our wonderful season and I would prefer to be reporting on the very good.

We will however deal with it and make appropriate decisions when the investigation is complete.

Thanks for all your support.

Kind regards,

Gary R

Gary Russell
