League Restart 5th and 6th December

Dear Members

We hope you are all doing well and not unduly affected by the current situation we find ourselves in this year

As you are aware the league went into an enforced lockdown at the begining of November which the government have confirmed will end on the 2nd December 2020 after which the Country will go back to a tiered system as follows;

Greater Manchester: Tier 3

Lancashire: Tier 3

Cheshire: Tier 2

Merseyside: Tier 2

The previous rules around grassroots football was that U7s to u18s were free to move across the tiers in order to play the game and this included coaches and family members, albeit was advised that any spectators were kept to a minimum and they must maintain the 2 metre distancing at games.

Referees were classed as working and as such could also cross boundaries in order to officiate in the grassroots game

At this time this is still the case for grassroots football and unless informed otherwise will be our stance going forward

This though is not the case for U19s and above which includes our U21s who must not move between tiers, accept teams from another tier or travel to a tier 3 area

The Lancashire FA provide a FAQs page which you may wish to refer to for further information

Finally we would like to confirm that the league is back up and running from this coming weekend (weather permitting) 5th and 6th December and fixtures have been allocated and referees appointed

We are seeking to run fixtures for the next 3 weekends up to the Christmas break and then we will start again the first weekend in January

If any team or club is unable to fullfil their fixture please complete a fixture cancellation request form in order to give us time to match your opponents with another team should they still wish to play

The fixture cancellation form can be found here

Please enjoy the game, stay safe, adhere to the guidance and lets concentrate on putting a smile on the faces of those who are in our charge
